Anna is a Latinx dance artist currently based in Brighton. She trained in contemporary dance at the Facultade de Dança Angel Vianna, Rio de Janeiro and went onto work as an apprentice with the Cia de Dança Deborah Colker and with the choreographers Gustavo Cirico, Frederico Paredes and Maira Maneschy. She has worked with, amongst others, Vertigo Dance Company, Vincent Dance Theatre, Ella Mesma Company, Artolution, Extraordinary Bodies, DeNada Dance Theatre, Noa Zuk and Yasmeen Gooder.
Her movement heritage includes; contemporary dance (Limón, Cuban Contemporary) and movement of the Latin American Disapora Tango, Samba, Salsa and capoeira. She also works with aerial circus (corde lisse) and classical guitar all of which have a big influence in her work.

Anna is a performer, movement director, choreographer and teacher. My work occupies a distinct position in the fields of dance and theatre, drawing in and blending ideas from my movement heritage and the cultural landscape. I aim to create work that connects us to ourselves, community and environment. In creative teams and teaching I aim to empower and free performers through movement and embodiment.
